After months of speculation and a series of legal proceedings involving various entities of the JUMP! Swim Schools business, the Melbourne-based Belgravia Group has assumed ownership of the franchise agreements for another 21 Jump! Swim School trading businesses.
Having purchased an initial 40 franchise agreements of the main franchisor company, Swim Loops, in July, Belgravia will now become the franchisor for these businesses and reunite them with the rest of the Jump! group.
Belgravia is also currently undertaking an assessment of a significant amount of other franchisee agreements that were sold but had not yet had a swim school delivered by previous Jump! management.
Belgravia have also since purchased the intellectual property and trademarks relating to Jump! to ensure that the group can keep operating with a business as usual approach.
Commenting on the acquisitions, Belgravia Kids Swim Chief Executive, Mark Collins told Australasian Leisure Management “the Group has been through an extremely difficult time recently and Belgravia is looking forward to providing a new, exciting partnership with its dedicated and hardworking franchisee base.
“We have sought to bring stability back over the past few months and have started to launch new initiatives such as our new national campaign for new enrolments to win a family holiday to start growing the group again.”
Belgravia Group Chairman, Geoff Lord added "having dealt with three liquidators, a receiver and an administrator as well as a number of concerned franchisees, we are now in a position to take this forward.
"Best of all we will be expanding our provision of swimming lessons to tens of thousands of kids, equipping them with a vital life skill."
